Conversations with Google Gemini

I don't know about you, but I find myself turning to Google ― and especially their “Gemini” A.I. engine ― to help me sift through the stories of the day. More and more often!

Is this "new"? Karen Ho's Empire Of A.I. about the machinations in California - you know OpenAI and “ChatGPT” and Elon Musk (who arguably bought the U.S. election and now lookit) and Peter Thiel and J.D. "Advancing" (look again) and all that stuff... 15 months ago.

“Gemini” does not appear in that book!

I want to look at today's Toronto Star item by Victoria Gibson that cites businesses buy up housing. Previously the Akelius Network promoted DW Gibson's The Edge Becomes The Center and in that one a hedge fund guy is into... wait for it... housing, big time.

The Star's item today says “More than 84,000 Ontario houses — roughly the number in Markham — are owned by businesses and for-profits. StatsCan wants to find out more” - https://www.thestar.com/real-estate/mor ... f087f.html

The item is archived at https://archive.is/MKasZ

To be continued. I'll be back later and I'll mark up the hyperlinks.

Oh wow. Just to show you how new it all is, this version of phpBB appears to be doing reasonable markup, in "BBCode", *on the fly*.

I wonder what this is? The little paperclip symbol in this screenshot. I have never seen this before. The screenshot is from another web site.

I don't remember attaching anything to my review of the FMTA summit a couple of years ago, but I did post a chat about chatting today, and for sure the protocols around how Google's A.I. sources (and "attachments" or sidebar references) get reposted are still being developed.
